Former Alabama basketball player Darius Miles will stand trial for capital murder charges with proceedings to begin the week of Dec. 1. The date was set by Tuscaloosa judge Daniel F. Pruet and takes place two years after Miles was arrested in connection with the shooting death of Jamea Harris.

Ex- Alabama basketball player Darius Miles is set to go on trial for capital murder later this year. In court today in Tuscaloosa, Judge Daniel F. Pruet set the date for the week of Dec. 1. The trial is expected to last at least a week.

Davis was convicted of capital murder by a Tuscaloosa jury in May 2025 after a five-day trial and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. If Miles is convicted, he faces the same sentence, since the state is not pursuing the death penalty.
