Real Madrid’s newest signing, Alvaro Carreras, said goodbye to Benfica fans on his Instagram account, shortly after Real Madrid announced the move officially on Monday.

Los Blancos have officially completed the transfer of Carreras from Benfica. The Spanish left-back, who initially joined the Eagles on loan from Manchester United in January 2024, impressed enough to attract Madrid, who have swooped in to bring the 22-year-old back to Spain on a six-year contract.

Real Madrid have re-signed Alvaro Carreras from Benfica for €50 million, bringing the 22-year-old full-back back to his boyhood club as part of Xabi Alonso's defensive rebuild ahead of the new season.
