Delhi's weather woes continued on Saturday as the biting cold and dense fog persisted. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has even issued a yellow alert for the national capital, warning people of the possibility of rain amid the cold wave.

The IMD said dense to very dense fog (visibility< 50 m) is expected to be reported in most parts of Punjab and in some parts of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, Delhi.

As per the Delhi Meteorological Centre, heavy rain is expected today in the National capital and the adjoining areas. The night temperature would also drop further.

Possibility of light rain and thunderstorms in isolated areas of the city, according to the India Meteorological Department

Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 9.6 degrees Celsius, 2.7 notches above the normal for this time of the year.

Delhi-NCR will receive heavy rainfall on January 11 and 12 due to Western Disturbances. The rains are expected to be accompanied by chilly winds, intensifying the ongoing cold wave.

Foggy Delhi recorded a significant drop in temperature on Thursday morning, with mercury hitting 6.4 deg C as compared to 8-11 degrees city was recording.

Delhi NCR is once again enveloped in dense fog, leading to poor visibility and travel disruptions across the region. The thick blanket of mist has extended throughout northern India, affecting daily commuters and travelers.

Fog reduced visibility to zero in parts of Delhi on Friday as well, leading to more than 100 flights and some trains getting delayed.
