Ukraine is already stepping up its drone campaign — and President Zelensky says he will build 30,000 deep-strike weapons next year.

Russia's drone attack on Ukraine's western city of Ternopil hit a residential building, killing one person and injuring several others, Ternopil's military administration said on Monday.

Russian troops launched a drone strike on the city of Kherson and the nearby village of Kindiika on the morning of 4 December, leaving two men aged 64 and 56 injured. An overnight Russian drone attack on Ternopil on Dec. 3 damaged energy infrastructure in the city, Mayor Serhiy Nadal said.

Ukraine's air force said it shot down 22 of 28 Russian drones in Moscow's overnight barrage, though acknowledged "several hits on critical infrastructure facilities."

Andrii Cherniak, a representative of Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR), revealed in an interview with Radio Liberty that Russia has already used approximately 60 North Korean KN-23 ballistic missiles for attacks on Ukraine.

While Russia has improved the assembly of Shahed-type drones, it still relies on Iranian or Chinese imports for some components, including engines and microelectronics, said Ukrainian military expert Petro Chernyk.
