The second morning of the final Test between Sri Lanka and Australia witnessed an even session in Galle. Resuming at 229/9, Sri Lanka were able to muster 28 more runs with Kusal Mendis (85*) doing the heavy-lifting along with last man Lahiru Kumara who did his part by hanging around.

Sri Lanka added on another 28 runs from their overnight score, with Kusal Mendis finding the boundary on a few occasions. Ultimately, Kumara was dismissed to end the innings.
