BSE Sensex and Nifty50, the Indian equity benchmark indices, tanked in trade on Friday. While BSE Sensex dropped over 500 points, Nifty50 went below 22,800.

Indian benchmark indices closed lower on Thursday, pressured by losses in heavyweight banks and Maruti Suzuki amid U.S. tariff concerns. The BSE Sensex fell 203.22 points (0.27%) to 75,735.96, while the Nifty 50 declined 19.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a flat start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 22,960 level, a discount of nearly 12 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.

The Sensex fell by 203 points to close at 75,736, while the Nifty dropped 20 points to settle at 22,913, holding above the 22,900 mark.

The bears are continuously pulling the Indian markets down as the Nifty, and Sensex opened with U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff threats.The benchmark indices, Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex declined at the opening bell as selling pressure persisted across most sectors.

Stock Market Closing Today On Feb 19: the 30-share BSE benchmark Sensex declined 28.21 points or 0.04 per cent to close at 75939.18. The NSE Nifty went down by 12.40 points or 0.05 per cent to close at 22932.
