Indiana matched their coach’s sense or urgency and opened the game 5 of 5 while breaking the press with ease. By the time OSU coach Kevin McGuff burned a timeout midway through the first quarter with his team trailing 21-15, he had long abandoned the defensive strategy.

Indiana has struggled on the road of late, dropping three straight, with shooting in particular not traveling well, so it was important to see one go in early. In the last two losses at Minnesota and Michigan, the Hoosiers shot a combined 10-38 from deep (26.3%), well below their season average.
