As rumored, the new icon is color-coded, lighting up green while your device is plugged in, yellow while actively in battery saver mode, and red after hitting 20 percent.

The updated status bar icon for Wi-Fi signal strength we spotted in Android 16 Beta 3. The battery level icon, however, is significantly different, showcasing a dynamic color scheme.

By default, macOS doesn’t show you the battery percentage. Instead you have to click on the battery icon or enable the always-visible percentage in System Preferences.

The only time the design really changes is when the battery reaches 20% or less -- the battery icon then shows as depleted, or about a fifth full, and turns red.

An Apple spokesperson did not immediately return FOX Business' request to comment on whether the battery percentage icon will be included in the official iOS 16 update in the fall.
