NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Flames damaged an ax throwing business in North Charleston this morning. The fire sparked before sunrise at The Bearded Ax on East Montague avenue in Park Circle.
The Bearded Ax celebrates their reopening with a charity event. On Sun. March 15, The Bearded Ax offers free admission throwing and adoption fees waived up to $500 in support of Dorchester Paws.
The Bearded Ax posted a statement on Facebook, confirming the fire at its location on East Montague Ave this morning. The post indicates the business is insured and they plan to rebuild.
Luke Mickelson with Bearded Axe has requested a special use permit to operate an indoor recreation facility at 246 Third Ave. S. Mickelson wants to turn a former warehouse into an ax-throwing gym.
Bearded Axe houses the most lanes out of any ax-throwing business in the West, Mathews said. There are 10 lanes in the large warehouse and each lane has two targets.
