An age-old question of how to monetize memes appears to have found an answer. This afternoon, the storied internet sensation, Nyan Cat, sold for 300.00 ETH (about $590,000) in an online auction.

Now the meme’s owner, Laney Griner, a photographer who took the photo of her son Sam, has sold it as an NFT for roughly $35,000. By the way, Sam is now almost 15.
