On October 17, the Alcoa Municipal Regional Planning Commission unanimously approved a conceptual plan for 2132 Topside Road. The address is also known as the former McBath property.

According to the plan, Segment 1, which includes parts of the Wilburton, Overlake and Bel-Red areas between 116th Ave NE and 124th Ave. N.E., will see a transformation in the next five years.

A conceptual plan would preserve the facades of three properties in the 400 block of Penn Street and develop the rear portions of the sites as a parking garage.

Township staff worked with MSP Design to create a preliminary design for the park. The price tag came in between $2.7 million and $3 million depending on amenities integrated into the final plan.
