Crayola is going back to the drawing board with its latest collection, bringing back a special assortment of retired colors for the first time in its 122-year history.
It only took Crayola over 100 years to release a more inclusive Colors of the World series for kiddos and artists to bring everyone's skin tones to life. Meanwhile, Flesh was renamed Peach in 1962.
For the curious, the original Crayola crayon colors were red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, brown and black. None of those have ever been retired and—given their ubiquity—likely never will.
