Chinese Lanterns generally grow to a height of 2 feet, producing pointed green leaves. In spring, small white flowers appear which develop into large green, balloon-shaped husks.

Evening skies will be ablaze with color and light at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden beginning Thursday, Sept. 7, as the Chinese Lantern Festival kicks off an eight-week exhibition in Belmont.
