Krispy Kreme is celebrating Halloween and the 40th anniversary of the film "Ghostbusters," with a doughnut collection starting Monday, Oct. 7.

Years after the series ended, ABC brought back the Ghostbusters for "Extreme Ghostbusters," which put together a new (and very '90s) team of ghost hunters led by Egon Spengler.

This will be the first Ghostbusters animated movie, as they have only had animated TV shows, and as such, it can be the perfect spiritual successor to the successful 1986 show.

Regardless, Ghostbusters II is the best film in the franchise, despite its critical reception that put the live-action film franchise on ice for nearly 25 years.

Whether or not Ghostbusters 5 happens will likely depend on whether the executives at Sony think another movie will make enough money. Frozen Empire was not the runaway success Sony hoped it would be.
