The natural grass playing field at Ogren Park at Allegiance Field has reached the end of its lifespan, and Big Sky Professional Baseball has asked the city to fund its replacement.
The 101-year-old Folsom Field has had natural grass for most of its existence, but there was a 28-season period (1971-1998) in which the football team played on a now-outdated version AstroTurf.
The playing surface at Folsom Field was natural grass until the 1971 season when it was replaced with Astroturf. The artificial turf was removed and reverted back to grass for the 1999 season.
