For four decades, the Sioux Falls Police Department and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue have trained its personnel at the V.L. Crusinberry Regional Training Center at Joe Foss Field.

According to a July 2022 Department of Defense report, the government has already or expects to spend $46.3 million to clean up PFAS at Ellsworth and about $2.9 million for remediation at Foss Field.

South Dakota airports, including Joe Foss Field in Sioux Falls, will receive a combined $19.64 million in grants from the Airport Improvement Program, the U.S. Department of Secretary announced.

The small, two-engine plane departed Joe Foss Field at 2:24 p.m. and was headed to Rapid City. It crashed soon after takeoff about a mile west of the field, he says.
