Management of the reservoir system is provided by the Missouri River Basin Water Management Division, Northwestern Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, located in Omaha, Nebraska.
There is currently 50.8 MAF of water stored in the Missouri River Mainstem Reservoir System, 5.3 MAF below the top of the carryover multiple use zone.
Due to the extremely dry conditions in the upper Missouri River Basin, the System is expected to lose an additional 2.0 MAF before the 2023 runoff season begins in March of 2023.
