Police investigated the incident and told ABC7 News he showed up at the home, where the monkey was hanging and spoke to the residents. He said that, upon inspection, the rope was not a noose.

Firefighters in Indiana came to the rescue of a monkey that escaped from its owners at a rural campsite and ended up getting its leash tangled in a tree about 30-35 feet above the ground.

According to a Facebook post from fire officials, around 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, they were called to a campground for a monkey stuck in a tree.
