The Australian tree Pittosporum undulatum (known locally as “mock orange” because of its brightly coloured fruit) was introduced to a botanic garden in the Blue Mountains more than 130 years ...
Blood Orange Trees are cold hardy and can grow outdoors in zones 8-11 or as patio trees as low as zone 3. The fruits are famed for their distinctive aftertaste, similar to raspberry or strawberry.
While the tree can grow to a height of 30 feet in its native habitat, it's more common for it to only reach a height of around 20 feet in cultivation, making it perfect for an urban front or backyard.
