Whatever the cause, what's certain is that Super Mario Bros. Wonder is fertile ground for new Amiibo figurines, and Nintendo passed on that opportunity.

You can pick up amiibo of Mario, Peach, Bowser, and more, all of which came out a few years ago before going out of stock and into retirement. Now they’re back, at least for the time being.
