More than 65,000 people have now signed a petition encouraging councils across the UK to allow wildflower meadows to grow on roadside verges. Councils seem to be listening.

A growing number of conservationists are turning to road verges, the often-overlooked grassy areas we drive past every day, to look for solutions to the biodiversity and climate crises.
