The cost of commuting on several Bay Area transit agencies, along with driving on the Golden Gate Bridge, has gone up on Tuesday as a series of fare and toll increases take effect.

Commuting to and through San Francisco will cost more starting Tuesday as SF Muni increases fares and the Golden Gate Bridge raises tolls.

To combat a projected deficit of at least $220 million, the transportation district hiked up tolls and fares around the Bay Area.
