Bangladesh court rejects plea to advance hearing of Hindu monk's bail petition in sedition case, set for January 2.

A Bangladesh court on Wednesday rejected a plea seeking to advance the hearing the bail petition of arrested Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das. According to a PTI report, the Chattogram Metropolitan Session Judge Saiful Islam rekected the plea as the lawyer did not have the power of attorney from Das.

Legal relief was denied to Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, the face of Hindu resistance in Bangladesh, yet again. A senior lawyer was told that he couldn't represent him despite a Supreme Court directive.

A case has been registered against Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das and his followers in Chittagong, Bangladesh. The complaint is based on a November 26 incident on the court premises where businessman and Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh activist Enamul Haque was allegedly attacked.

Bangladeshi lawyer Rabindra Ghosh will again seek bail for detained priest Chinmoy Krishna Das in a Chittagong court on Thursday. Ghosh's initial plea was rejected due to lack of authorization, which he has since obtained.
