EADaily, December 1st, 2024. The meeting of the Collective Security Council (CSTO) was held in Astana on November 28 without the participation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The authorities of the Transcaucasian republic remained faithful to their chosen path of "freezing" membership in the regional collective security system.

During the CSTO summit in Astana, Vladimir Putin threatened Ukraine with the use of Oreshnik ballistic missiles. Despite an arrest warrant, the Russian leader was received with honors. The meeting took place against the backdrop of geopolitical tensions and the absence of Armenia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on Armenia's absence from the current summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), RIA Novosti reports. According to the Russian media, Putin said that each and every country has the right to choose what to do in the security sector.
