Robot, which brought robotic vacuum cleaners to the masses with its iconic Roomba models, has filed for bankruptcy.

The simplest explanation for why the Roomba has struggled so much in recent years is an inability to compete with cheaper Chinese alternatives that are rushing out of factories. In recent years, iRobot has attempted to cut costs as much as possible to compete with rivals like Xiaomi, Ecovacs and others, but its revenues continued to collapse.
