The Kentucky Wildcats take on the Louisville Cardinals in college football’s Governor’s Cup in Lexington on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for noon on the SEC Network. Jon Hale, Mark Story, Cameron Drummond and myself will be at Kroger Field.

From the point last year when No. 9 and 10-1 Louisville suffered a crushing, come-from-ahead 38-31 loss to Kentucky in Brohm’s Governor’s Cup rivalry coaching debut, the U of L head man knew his assignment: To come to Lexington and finally get U of L back on top of the team its fan base most yearns to beat.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - For the first time since 2017, the Governor's Cup resides in the hands of the Louisville football program. The Cardinals thoroughly embarrassed Kentucky this past Saturday, leaving Kroger Field with an emphatic 41-14 win.

With 9 minutes to play in the fourth quarter, Louisville tailback Isaac Brown burst through the line and sprinted down the sideline for his second touchdown of the game. After going 67 yards without being touched, Brown stopped, looked into the Kentucky stands, and put his head on his hands.
