Currently, Starks is still signed to an AEW contract, and outside of GCW, none of his other appearances have been publicly cancelled, such as his involvement with HOG's Watch the Throne event in Chicago next January.

Ricky Starks was backstage at AEW Full Gear 2024 this past weekend after months of speculation on his status in the company and wrestling future. Fightful Select reports that not only was 'Absolute' backstage at the 23 November pay-per-view, but he was "getting along well with everyone" too.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has reported that the decision was made by AEW to pull Starks from his upcoming GCW dates earlier today (November 26). While there are a variety of reasons as to why this has happened, one of the main ones was down to recent comments by GCW staple Effy which were directed at AEW President Tony Khan's father Shad.
