A woman has died after police say she was shot multiple times outside of a church in North Philadelphia early Friday morning.

Philadelphia police said it’s possible a woman shot and killed near a North Philadelphia church early Friday may have been targeted.

A woman in her late 20s or early 30s was killed after being shot in her head, face and chest outside a Philadelphia church overnight in what is believed to be a targeted attack.

Police have not released a motive in the shooting but did say an individual with possible involvement has been taken into custody.

Investigators say at least eight shots were fired in the killing, some fatally striking the woman in the head, face, and chest.

A woman was shot during what police believe to be a road rage incident in Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A gunman carried out a cold-blooded crime right in front of a North Philadelphia church early Friday morning. The killer fired numerous rounds, shooting the woman in the face and head. It happened at 1 a.m. in the 2000 block of West Lehigh Avenue.
