Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed a law creating new hurdles for getting citizen-driven initiatives on the ballot before voters.

The Florida Legislature will send to Gov. Ron DeSantis a bill to make it more difficult for citizens to get constitutional amendments on the ballot.

Critics say the changes will derail a process used to create a free pre-K program, boost the minimum wage and restore felons’ voting rights.
