Tashard Choice appears headed back to the NFL. The Texas Longhorns running backs coach, according to multiple reports Thursday, is expected to head to the Detroit Lions to fill the same role on Dan Campbell’s staff. He had served as running backs coach at UT since 2021.

The 40-year-old has spent the past three years as the Longhorns' running backs coach, overseeing a room that included Doak Walker Award-winner and first-round draft pick Bijan Robinson, 2023 fourth-round draft pick Roschon Johnson and 2024 second-round draft pick Jonathon Brooks.

Based on multiple reports, Texas football will hire West Virginia assistant Chad Scott as its new running backs coach. Scott, 50, replaces Tashard Choice, who became the new running backs coach for the Detroit Lions earlier this month.
