The beginning of free agency seemed somewhat quiet until the Bucks made a couple of splashes on the first morning of the period. Milwaukee shocked the NBA world by agreeing to a deal with Myles Turner after it was widely expected he would make his way back to Indiana, where he has spent the first 10 seasons of his career.

One NBA executive told ESPN’s Tim Bontemps and Jamal Collier that the Milwaukee Bucks waiving Damian Lillard turned a "bad situation into a worse one."
“Aaron Goodwin, Damian Lillard’s agent, reached out to the Bucks about a month ago and informed them that Dame would like to rehab back home in Portland and stay with his kids… and I was told that some people within the Bucks did not approve of that,” he said.
On Tuesday morning, the Bucks made the shocking decision to waive all-star guard Damian Lillard. Lillard was set to miss most of next season and was reportedly happy that he could now choose his next team.
Star point guard was just as caught off guard as everyone else in the NBA world that this move was being made.
