PARK FOREST, Ill. (WLS) -- The air conditioning has been restored at one of the buildings at a south suburban apartment complex, after weeks of issues, the Park Forest mayor said Tuesday.

A man was transported to UC Medical Center on Sunday after he was shot in the chest outside of a Forest Park restaurant, Forest Park police said. Police have not identified any suspects.

Forest Park officers responded to the scene at 3:43 p.m. on Kemper Meadow Drive, where they found the victim lying on the ground. The suspect, whose identity remains unknown, fled in a white vehicle.
