The COVID-19 pandemic and millions in facility improvements have contributed to an increase in visits to Illinois State Parks, say officals with the Department of Natural Resources.
Illinois’ 290 state parks and 56 historic sites recorded more than 41 million visitors last year, following several significant capital projects to upgrade and improve many of the parks.
