River cruise giant Viking's move into ocean cruising hit another milestone on Thursday as the company christened its fifth ocean ship, Viking Orion, along the waterfront of Livorno, Italy.

Italy has granted permission for the rescue ship Ocean Viking to disembark 82 migrants in the southern island of Lampedusa, the SOS Mediterranee charity — which runs the vessel — said Saturday.

Ocean Viking's crew said Italian authorities instructed the ship with 82 migrants aboard to sail to Lampedusa. It was expected to arrive at the island later on Saturday.
