The theme, “The Power of Place,” permeated the Fairfax County History Commission’s 20th annual conference on Nov. 2, including the power of places long gone.

The first was the Rev. Jeffery Johnson Sr., pastor of the City’s Mount Calvary Baptist Church. “We are embracing this monumental movement of history in the City of Fairfax,” he said.
