Founded in 1983, the parade was inspired by Coney Island’s old Mardi Gras parades.

Eugene Hütz of Gogol Bordello and Queenie Sateen led the procession as King Neptune and Queen Mermaid for the 43rd annual edition of the Brooklyn summer tradition.
