Limestone University, a private Christian liberal arts college in Gaffney previously known as Limestone College, was founded in 1845 as one of the first women’s colleges in the country.
It was South Carolina’s first single-gender college serving females. About 1,000 students currently attend classes on campus. Another 750 take courses online.
