MISSOULA, Mont. — Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks recently released the findings of a 10-year research study on moose populations across the state, showing positive trends for these iconic animals.

In northwestern Montana, moose gravitate toward areas where the forest is young due to past timber harvesting. Moose are spread across western Montana in between those areas, he said.
