A pproximately 5 million swimming pools have been recalled by their manufacturers after they were linked to the deaths of nine young children over the past two decades. The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on Monday morning, adding that it primarily impacted pools at least 48 inches in height or taller.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled about 5 million above-ground swimming pools due to potential drowning risk after nine children died over the last two decades.

The CSPC says that nine children between 22 months and three years old have died in the years between 2007 and 2022.
