Brent Rooker hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the fifth inning and Mason Miller struck out Ernie Clement and George Springer looking with the tying run on second in the ninth inning as the Athletics beat the Toronto Blue Jays 4-3 on Saturday night.

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Athletics slugger Brent Rooker is adding his name to the list of Home Run Derby participants. Rooker announced Thursday that he’s participating in the event, which takes place Monday in Atlanta. He will become the first Athletics player in the Home Run Derby since Matt Olson in 2021.

There is only one spot left open in the 2025 MLB Home Run Derby after Brent Rooker of the Athletics became the seventh player to confirm his participation in the event.
