Things have not always gone according to plan on the former Anclote Manor property, a former psychiatric hospital at 1527 Riverside Drive.

Anclote Manor, a former psychiatric hospital once described as a "medieval house of horrors," has been empty for two years but only recently has been aggressively marketed for sale.

The patient, Tom Hand, 25, entered Anclote Psychiatric Hospital in April 1984. He had been charged in Washington, D.C., with assault after hitting another man in the leg with a pipe during a fight.
