Cam Newton won a national championship and Heisman Trophy with the Auburn Tigers before the Carolina Panthers made him the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

While Newton has never been shy about voicing his opinions, a recent anecdote he shared about first being drafted by the Panthers with the No. 1 pick in 2011 struck a chord with his former receiver, Steve Smith Sr. Newton revealed that upon being drafted by the Panthers, he went into a locker room full of "losers."

Newton is a growing media presence who said in November he was hurt when he wasn’t invited to join Smith, Luke Kuechly, Thomas Davis and other former players in Germany when the Panthers played the New York Giants.
