Built during the Depression era as a luxury retreat for well-heeled survivors of the 1929 crash, Skyline Lodge in Highlands, North Carolina, has found new life as a boutique hotel.

The new owner of the World War II-era landmark was handed the keys Wednesday. She has grand plans to revive the club that thousands of Columbia locals remember fondly.
