K5 models may also face the same issue with their C-pillar garnish face plates, which are the decorative panels located near the left and right rear windows. In an additional notice, Kia said the piece may loosen and fall off due to a supplier quality issue.

This is a very similar problem to the one that forced Kia to recall more than 100,000 K5 sedans from the same model years at the back end of last month. In the K5’s case, the trim was part of the C-pillar rather than the door, and it was made by a different supplier in Korea, but the issue was same.

Over 100,000 Kia vehicles were recalled for a potential window trim hazard. Kia said the issue can be resolved by getting a replacement window trim.
