A technology issue at Alaska Airlines resulted in the temporary grounding of flights in Seattle on Monday morning and problems into the afternoon for people trying to book flights on its website, the airline said.

Seattle-based Alaska Airlines is recovering Tuesday after an IT issue grounded flights at its hub airport and stopped passengers from making online bookings.

Alaska Airlines’ Cyber Monday sale causes a major IT outage and flight disruption as the carrier’s website and booking engine crashes.

An IT issue caused a “significant disruption” to Alaska’s operations, according to the company. To clear up congestion on the ground, the airline requested a ground stop at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport from 11:20 a.m. to noon.

Flight attendants at Alaska Airlines resumed contract negotiations with the carrier last week on a revised proposal, Seattle Times reported on Friday.
