China warned the Biden administration to tread cautiously on the issue of Taiwan after President Lai Ching-te landed in Hawaii on his first stopover on US soil.

HONOLULU (AP) — On a two-day visit to Hawaii, Taiwan’s president Lai Ching-te met with the state's governor and congressional representatives as part of a Pacific island tour that has already triggered criticism from Beijing.

Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te touched down in Hawaii over the weekend and spoke by phone with former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) as China slammed the U.S. for the visit and for selling weapons parts to Taipei.
