Rajnath Singh said Russia’s support to the Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) campaign reflected the deep bilateral ties between the two countries.

In a major boost to the Indian Naval Force, INS Tushil was commissioned in Russia's Kaliningrad on December 09. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attended the Commissioning Ceremony of INS Tushil at Kaliningrad on Monday.

India commissioned its latest stealth frigate, INS Tushil, at a Russian shipyard. This marks one of the final warships built abroad, as future vessels will be constructed domestically under the 'Make in India' initiative.

Commissioning marks the formal induction of a warship into the Navy and is an occasion when the ship earns its prefix (in this case INS- Indian Naval Ship).

INS Tushil is the seventh multirole stealth frigate in the series of Project 1135.6 and the first of the additional follow-on class ships.
