As the funeral was brought to a close, her catchphrase, which was part of her voiceover parodies of Ms Sturgeon’s coronavirus news briefings that saw her achieve viral fame during the pandemic, was played over the PA system and the doors of the church were opened.

The hearse carrying Janey Godley has made its way through Edinburgh as the Scottish comedian's "final tour" takes place. The Glaswegian died on 2 November aged 63 after living for several years with ovarian cancer.

Back in 2021, Godley shared her ovarian cancer diagnosis and began treatment, including a full hysterectomy in January 2022. By June, the comedienne announced she was cancer-free, but heartbreakingly, in December, Janey revealed that her cancer had returned.

The service was held at St Mary's Cathedral in Glasgow on Saturday, and mourners wore an array of colourful outfits, at Godley's request, on an overcast day in the city.
