The 15-month-old boy who was declared missing over the weekend has now been found, authorities said. Matheo Vasquez was found safe and returned to his mother on Monday afternoon, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.

Matheo Vasquez, the Harris County boy at the center of an AMBER Alert, has been located. 25-year-old Jason Irwin Vasquez is still wanted for kidnapping, officials say. Officials believe Jason Vasquez was driving a 2016 dark gray GMC 4-door Sierra pickup truck with Texas license plate JZY5720.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Matheo Vasquez was believed to be with 25-year-old Jason Vasquez, who has been charged with kidnapping. Moreover, Joel Vasquez, 21, has been charged with interference with child custody, according to court documents. Joel Vasquez' relationship with Jason Vasquez and Matheo Vasquez remains unclear.

Matheo Vasquez was last seen Saturday, Jan. 25 at around 5:19 p.m. and last known to be with his uncle, Jason Irwin Vasquez, 25.

The boy was found safe after being missing for nearly two days. The suspect, Jason Irwin Vasquez, is not in custody.

After an AMBER Alert was issued for missing 15-month-old Matheo Vasquez, who was last seen in the 15000 block of Green Stone in Houston, one of the boy’s relatives has been charged with kidnapping.
