PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Allegheny County Police are investigating a threat at Pittsburgh International Airport. Law enforcement tells KDKA that a threat was made on board a Spirit Airlines flight heading to Florida just before take-off. The pilots were able to pull over on the runway where it currently remains.

Authorities are investigating after a reported possible bomb threat was made onboard a plane at Pittsburgh International Airport Thursday morning, sources tell Channel 11.

Allegheny County Police were investigating “a security issue” at Pittsburgh International Airport after they removed all passengers from a Spirit plane set to fly Thursday morning to Tampa, officials said.

A flight from the Pittsburgh International Airport to Tampa was rescheduled on Thursday while police investigated a bomb threat that they determined was never made. Allegheny County police said they were called to investigate a "security issue" on a Spirit Airlines flight scheduled to depart from Pittsburgh to Tampa.

A Spirit Airlines flight was disrupted Thursday morning after a reported bomb threat and KDKA Radio’s Larry Richert was on that. Richert called into Colin Dunlap’s show just after 4 p.m., only moments after getting his phone back.
